What do US and Canadian patients need to know before travelling to Istanbul?
Direct flights connect Istanbul to New York, Toronto and Montreal. As of our check on 8 August 2026, ordinary US and Canadian passport holders enter Turkey visa-free for stays of up to 90 days — but confirm this yourself before booking, since entry rules can change. Our Istanbul clinic is in Etiler, on the European side of the city.
Getting there
Direct flights connect Istanbul to New York, Toronto and Montreal — the routes that make a two-trip implant plan realistic without a connection at each end. If you are travelling from elsewhere in the US or Canada, a one-stop connection through a European or Gulf hub is usually available. Schedules and prices change, so check current routes with your airline or a flight search site rather than relying on a number here.

This is the one part of your trip you should verify yourself against the official source before you book anything — entry rules can change without much notice, and we are not a visa authority.

As of our check on 8 August 2026, the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs states that holders of an ordinary (non-official) US or Canadian passport are exempt from a visa for stays of up to 90 days within any 180-day period. This exemption applies to ordinary passports only — official and diplomatic passports have separate requirements. The same source advises holding a passport valid for at least 6 months from your date of arrival.
Where to stay
Our Istanbul clinic is in Etiler, on the European side of the city, within the Beşiktaş district — one of the city's more desirable areas, not an industrial edge of town.
Your stay is arranged for you: a five-star chain hotel, not a budget room next to a clinic. A VIP transfer meets you at the airport, takes you to the hotel, and drives you to every appointment and back. You do not navigate Istanbul traffic on treatment days.
What we will not do is name the hotel on this page before it is booked. Which property suits your dates depends on your treatment schedule and availability, and your patient coordinator confirms it in writing with your plan — before you book a flight, not after.

Does the clinic arrange my flights, hotel or airport transfer?
Flights are yours to book. The hotel and the transfers are not: you stay at a five-star chain hotel arranged for you, and a VIP transfer meets you at the airport and drives you to every appointment. Which hotel, on which dates, is confirmed in writing by your patient coordinator along with your treatment plan — before you book the flight.
How long should my passport be valid to travel to Turkey?
The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs advises holding a passport valid for at least 6 months from your date of arrival. Check your own passport expiry against that before you book, and re-check closer to your travel date.
Which cities have direct flights to Istanbul?
New York, Toronto and Montreal currently have direct flights to Istanbul. If you are travelling from elsewhere in the US or Canada, a one-stop connection is usually available — check current routes and schedules with your airline.
Where should I stay while I am in Istanbul?
Our clinic is in Etiler, in the Beşiktaş district on the European side of the city. Many patients look for accommodation in Etiler or the surrounding area to keep appointments close by; talk to your coordinator once your treatment dates are confirmed.
