Cost Comparison

Dental treatment cost: Turkey vs the USA

How much does dental work in Turkey cost compared to the USA?

A complete single-tooth implant restoration — implant, abutment and crown — is 1,300 € (about $1,499) with Astra Tech at our Istanbul clinic, or 1,500 € (about $1,730) with Straumann. The same finished tooth is commonly quoted at $3,500 to $6,500 in the United States, a difference of roughly 51% to 77%.

Two things probably crossed your mind already, so we will say them before you have to ask.

"Staying in the US has real advantages you are not mentioning." It does — no flight for a follow-up, your own insurance network, no language layer, and a complaint process you already understand. We set all of that out honestly, further down this page.

"What if something goes wrong once I am back home?" Contact your patient coordinator; within cover, the treatment and your accommodation are paid by the clinic. The flight back is not — that is the honest cost of choosing Istanbul, and it does not disappear because the first trip was cheaper.

The comparison, like for like

Most Turkey-vs-USA price pages compare two different things. A Turkish clinic quotes the implant and the abutment; a US practice quotes the implant, the abutment and the crown. Put those two numbers side by side and Turkey looks far cheaper than it really is.

So this table only compares finished work: what you walk out with, against what the same finished work is quoted at in the US.

Why you will not see "900 €" next to "$3,500" on this page

Our implant price on its own is 900 € with Astra Tech and 1,100 € with Straumann. That number covers the titanium fixture and the abutment. It does not include the crown. The crown is 400 € with IPS e.max, which is how you get to 1,300 € and 1,500 €.

We could print "implants from 900 €" next to the American $3,500 and quote a much larger saving. It would be a comparison between a part and a whole, and you would find out at the clinic. The full per-item list is on our dental implant cost page.

What the percentage is standing in for

51% to 77% is easy to read and easy to misuse. The number worth sitting with is what is behind it — a tooth you have been ordering around, a photo you angle away from, a chip you stopped mentioning. That is the gap this page is actually about; the percentage is just how you get there.

What can change your price after the examination

A price becomes real after a CT scan, not before. The things that most often change it:

  • Not enough bone volume at the implant site — a graft or sinus lift adds cost, and adds months of healing before the crown can be fitted.
  • Active gum disease or an untreated infection — this is treated first. In some cases it means the implant is postponed to a second trip.
  • Grinding or clenching (bruxism) — it changes the material and design choice, and untreated bruxism is outside our warranty cover.
  • Smoking — it affects healing after implant surgery and it changes what we are able to warrant. Tell us, and we will show you exactly what applies in your case.

Implant treatment is not right for everyone. There are cases where we will tell you that a bridge, a denture, or treatment at home is the better decision — including cases where the follow-up you need cannot reasonably be done from another continent.

The clinic’s published tiers

These are the treatment tiers the clinic publishes, with the price printed on each card. They are quoted per tooth, except the implant system, which is quoted per implant with its abutment.

  • Sevil Off Scale White veneer tier, £245 per tooth
  • Sevil Pearly Translucent veneer tier, £245 per tooth
  • Sevil Natural White veneer tier, £245 per tooth
  • Sevil Elite White Mono veneer tier, £310 per tooth
  • Straumann implant system, £770 for implant and abutment

Prices on these cards are in pounds sterling, as the clinic publishes them for patients travelling from the UK. The euro and dollar figures elsewhere on this page describe the same treatments; the final figure is confirmed after an examination and a CT scan.

What the Turkish price does not include

ItemIncluded in the quoted price

Examination and CT scan on arrivalYes
Local anaestheticYes
The temporary prosthesis, where the treatment plan calls for oneYes
Sedation, which is arranged with a partner hospital and quoted individually after your consultationNo — arranged with a partner hospital and quoted after your consultation
Bone graft, sinus lift, gum treatment or extraction, if your case needs itNo — quoted separately after the CT scan
FlightsNo
Accommodation for your treatment tripNo
Accommodation for a revision trip covered by warrantyYes — clinic pays

That last pair is the honest edge of our warranty, and we would rather you read it here than discover it later: if covered work has to be redone, the treatment and the hotel are ours, the flight is yours.

What a US quote bundles into the treatment fee versus bills as a separate line — local anaesthetic, sedation, a temporary — is practice- and policy-dependent, and we do not have a published figure to put next to ours here. Ask any US practice for the same breakdown in writing before you compare totals.

Where the US figures come from

The $3,500–$6,500 range for a complete single-tooth restoration was compiled from published US dental practice and consumer pricing guides, read in August 2026. These are practice and guide websites, not a statistical survey — treat the range as a realistic band, not a national average. Your own quote from a US dentist is the only figure that applies to you, and it is worth getting one before you compare anything.

What you get in writing before you book

  • A written treatment plan with each item priced, after your CT scan.
  • The implant brand and system named — Straumann (Switzerland) or Astra Tech by Dentsply Sirona (Sweden) — and an implant passport with the lot details, so a dentist in the US or Canada can identify and service what was placed.
  • Lifetime warranty on the implant fixture itself (covering osseointegration failure and fracture) and 5 years on implant-supported prosthetics, zirconia crowns and veneers, from completion of treatment. Smoking, untreated bruxism and trauma void cover.
  • Our International Health Tourism authorisation from the Turkish Ministry of Health — all three of our clinics appear on the Ministry's published list of authorised facilities, which you can check yourself.

Where staying in the US genuinely wins

These are real, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. If any of them outweighs the percentage above, staying home is probably the right call for your case.

  • No flight for any of it, including the follow-up. A bite adjustment, a check on how healing is going, a question you would rather ask in person — all of that is a local appointment at home, not a trip you plan around.
  • Your own insurance network applies. If you carry dental insurance, in-network coverage does not travel with you to Istanbul; treatment here is paid out of pocket, in full, up front.
  • No language layer. Every consultation, consent form and follow-up call happens in the language you already think in.
  • A complaint and regulatory pathway you already understand. Your state dental board and your existing insurer's disputes process are familiar territory, rather than a foreign system you would be learning for the first time.
  • No time zone gap. Reaching your own dentist during your own working hours does not depend on Istanbul running several hours ahead.

The case against travelling for this

Set against the saving:

  • You will usually make two trips, several months apart, because bone needs time to heal around an implant. The saving is real; the calendar is not compressible — see how many days that adds up to for your treatment.
  • A revision under warranty costs you another flight, even though the treatment and the hotel are covered by us.
  • Small adjustments — a bite tweak, a re-cement — are simple at home and awkward from another continent. Ask us what your home dentist can handle before you book.
  • We are not the cheapest quote in Istanbul, and we do not try to be. You will find advertised implants far below our price; here is what that number actually covers.

Istanbul is served by direct flights from New York, Toronto and Montreal, which is the one thing that genuinely makes a two-trip plan workable. Read more about when travelling for treatment is, and is not, the right call, or see the full step-by-step treatment journey.

Three questions to ask any clinic — including us

Whichever country you end up comparing us against, these are the three questions that actually decide whether a lower number is a real saving.

  1. 1. What does this price actually include?

    • Local anaesthetic
    • The temporary prosthesis, where the treatment plan calls for one

Not included, arranged and quoted separately: Sedation, which is arranged with a partner hospital and quoted individually after your consultation.

  2. 2. How many years is the warranty, and what does it cover — and what does it not?

Ours is a lifetime on the implant fixture and 5 years on prosthetics, crowns and veneers, from completion of treatment. Smoking, untreated bruxism and trauma void it — full terms on our warranty page.

  3. 3. If a problem shows up once I am home, what exactly happens next?

You contact your patient coordinator; within cover, the revision treatment and your accommodation are paid by the clinic. The flight is yours — the one item we do not cover, stated here rather than left for you to discover later.

Why price shouldn't be your first question

A short clip from our team on comparing quotes by more than the headline number.

What people ask when comparing Turkey with the USA

Is dental work really cheaper in Turkey, or is it a bait price?

Both exist. The honest test is scope: ask any clinic, in writing, whether the quoted implant price includes the abutment and the crown. Ours does not include the crown at 900 €, and does at 1,300 €. A clinic that will not answer that question in writing has told you something.

Do Turkish clinics use the same implant brands as US dentists?

Some do. We place Straumann (Switzerland) and Astra Tech by Dentsply Sirona (Sweden), and use IPS e.max ceramics. These are systems many US and Canadian dentists already work with, and you leave with the implant documentation so yours can identify what was placed.

How much can I actually save on a single implant?

On the complete restoration — implant, abutment and crown — the difference is 57%–77% with Astra Tech and 51%–73% with Straumann against a US quote of $3,500–$6,500. Against a US quote at the lower end of that band, and once you add flights and a hotel, the saving on one tooth narrows considerably. A single implant is rarely worth the trip on economics alone.

Does the price include flights and the hotel?

No. Flights and accommodation for your treatment trip are yours. If covered work has to be redone under warranty, we pay for the treatment and the hotel, and you pay the flight.

What if something goes wrong after I fly home?

Contact your patient coordinator at the clinic; they handle the warranty claim from there. Within cover, the revision treatment and your accommodation are paid by the clinic and you pay the flight. What voids cover is published in full, not buried in a footnote.
