Implant Cost

Dental implant cost in Turkey

How much does a dental implant cost in Turkey?

At our Istanbul clinic an Astra Tech implant with its abutment is 900 € and a Straumann implant with its abutment is 1,100 €. The crown is not included in either figure; with an IPS e.max crown at 400 €, the finished tooth comes to 1,300 € (about $1,499) or 1,500 € (about $1,730).

This page is about price. For how the treatment itself works — why it takes two trips, when a bone graft changes the plan, and who is not a candidate — see how dental implants work.

The two "complete restoration" lines are the ones to use when you compare us with a quote from home, because that is what a US or Canadian practice is quoting: the finished tooth, not the screw. See how that stacks up against a US quote on our Turkey vs USA cost comparison.

If you have been avoiding chewing on one side for months, or planning meals around which teeth still work, that is usually what actually brings someone to this page — not the number itself, but what a missing or failing tooth has quietly changed about how you eat.

Why Patients Actually Book

What this actually changes

Ask us the three questions below, and ask every clinic you are comparing the same three — not because the number is wrong, but because a number without the scope on it is not a quote.

A patient laughing after treatment at one of our clinics

Ask us — and ask every clinic you are comparing

Three questions decide whether a quote is actually comparable to ours. We would rather you asked them than took our number on faith.

  1. 1. Does this price include the crown, or just the fixture?

Ours does not — 900 € and 1,100 € are the fixture and abutment only, and the crown is priced separately above. What the fixture price does cover: Local anaesthetic and the temporary prosthesis, where the treatment plan calls for one. Sedation, which is arranged with a partner hospital and quoted individually after your consultation — we do not have a fixed figure for it to publish here, so ask for it in writing. A quote that folds the crown into the headline number without saying so is not comparable to a quote that does not.

  2. 2. How many years is the warranty, and what actually voids it?

Ours is lifetime on the fixture and 5 years on the crown, and the things that void it — smoking, untreated bruxism, trauma — are published on the same page as the promise, not buried in a contract you sign after you land.

  3. 3. If it fails after I am home, what happens, step by step?

You contact your patient coordinator; covered treatment and accommodation are paid by the clinic, and you cover the flight. Ask for that sequence in writing before you book, from us or from anyone else.

This is a good point to say something you are probably already wondering: is a 900 € implant this much cheaper because something is being cut? Our honest answer: no — it is the same Astra Tech and Straumann systems used in the US and Canada, placed by a dentist with the same fixture in hand, at a lower cost of running the clinic and doing business here. See the fuller breakdown on why dental work costs less in Turkey, including where we are honestly not the cheapest quote in Istanbul.

And the other question worth asking before you book: what if the implant fails after you are already back home? Our honest answer, and our honest weak point: a revision means booking a transatlantic flight, every time. We pay for the treatment and the hotel at whichever of our three clinics suits you, but the flight is never included — factor that into the decision, not just the 900 €.

Astra Tech or Straumann: how the choice is made

Both are long-established implant systems with published clinical documentation, and both are placed in the US and Canada. The 200 € difference between them is a difference in system and component range, not a difference in how carefully the surgery is done.

Our honest position: for most single-tooth cases the choice between the two is a preference, not a clinical necessity, and we will say so rather than upsell you. The reason some patients choose Straumann anyway is recognition — if your dentist at home already works with the system, servicing the restoration later is a shorter conversation. Which system suits your bone and your site is decided from the CT scan, and in some cases only one of them is appropriate.

At The Clinic

Where the system choice actually gets made

Every implant plan on this page — Astra Tech or Straumann, one trip or two, whether a bone graft comes first — is decided in this room, from your CT scan. Not from a price list, and not from an email agreed before you land.

What is not in the implant price

  • The crown. The 900 € and 1,100 € figures are the fixture and abutment only. Add 400 € for an IPS e.max crown, or 350 € for zirconia.
  • Bone graft or sinus lift, if the CT scan shows there is not enough bone. This is quoted separately and it also adds healing months before the crown can be placed.
  • Extraction, gum treatment or root canal work needed before the implant.
  • Flights and accommodation for your treatment trip.

When an implant is not the right treatment

We will tell you this before you book flights, not after you land:

  • Not enough bone, and grafting is either not advisable in your case or turns a two-trip plan into a longer one.
  • Untreated gum disease or an active infection — the implant waits until this is resolved, and sometimes that means treating at home first.
  • Smoking, which affects healing after implant surgery and limits what we can warrant.
  • Untreated bruxism, which loads the restoration and is outside our warranty cover.
  • Medical conditions and medications that affect bone healing. This is assessed from your medical history — send it with your X-rays.

In some of these cases a bridge or a denture is the better answer, and in some the right answer is treatment at home. An implant that should not have been placed is more expensive than any saving on this page. Read more about when travelling for treatment is, and is not, the right call.

What is included beyond the treatment itself

  • A written, itemised plan after the CT scan — before you commit to travel.
  • The system and lot recorded in an implant passport you take home, so any dentist in the US or Canada can identify what was placed.
  • Lifetime warranty on the implant fixture (osseointegration failure and fracture) and 5 years on the crown and any implant-supported prosthetics, from completion of treatment.
  • If covered work fails: treatment and accommodation are paid by the clinic, the flight is yours.
  • Treatment at a clinic holding International Health Tourism authorisation from the Turkish Ministry of Health — all three of our clinics appear on the Ministry's published list of authorised facilities, which you can check yourself.

Cover ends where smoking, untreated bruxism and trauma begin. That list is published in the same size type as the promise.

Implant System

The brand and lot are recorded after placement

Completed at our Istanbul clinic. The two panoramic X-rays are the part worth looking at: the fixtures are visible in the bone, which is the only way to see what is actually holding a restoration up. This is a full-arch case, not a single tooth — the number of fixtures a case needs is decided from the CT scan, not from a photograph.

What people ask about implant pricing

Does the 900 € implant price include the crown?

No. 900 € covers the Astra Tech fixture and the abutment; 1,100 € covers the Straumann fixture and abutment. An IPS e.max crown is 400 €, which brings the finished tooth to 1,300 € or 1,500 €. Zirconia crowns are 350 € per unit.

How many trips to Istanbul does an implant take?

Usually two, several months apart, because the implant needs time to integrate with the bone before the crown is fitted. Some cases can be handled differently, and that decision is made from your CT scan — not from a schedule agreed by email beforehand.

Which is better, Astra Tech or Straumann?

Neither is better as a rule. Both are long-documented systems used in North America. The practical argument for Straumann is that many dentists at home already work with it. Which one suits your case is decided from the CT scan, and sometimes only one is appropriate.

Will my dentist at home be able to work on an implant placed in Turkey?

That depends on whether they can identify the system. You leave our clinic with an implant passport recording the brand and lot, which is exactly what a dentist needs to order the right components. Ask any clinic you are comparing whether they provide this.

What happens if the implant fails after I go home?

The fixture carries a lifetime warranty covering osseointegration failure and fracture. You contact your patient coordinator, and within cover the revision treatment and your accommodation are paid by the clinic while you pay the flight. Smoking, untreated bruxism and trauma void cover.
